The songs are locked to a machine and it doesn't matter whether you have a backup or whether you try to play them under the same account, you have to go to Sony and asked them to unlock them from the machine they were downloaded onto so that you can download them again onto a different machine. Sorry for the late follow up, but all of this that you have said is not true. (eg that is the same as copying a CD and giving it to a friend) You cannot transfer songs between different account names though, for obvious reasons.
